To preserve the unique rural landscape of Gowensville, South Carolina through community collaboration by establishing zoning practices that will protect land values and maintain the countryside.
Learn how zoning issues and decisions being made affect your county, your community and your neighborhood. Let your voice be heard.

Over the last few months, Preserve Gowensville, community members, the Chief of the Cherokee Tribe and Staff of Greenville County have met to start brainstorming ideas that will protect and preserve our local treasure that is Hwy 11. As obvious to us all, development, sprawl and industry are coming our way. Proactive steps need to be explored in order to be ready. To that end, there will be a community meeting to share ideas and discuss priorities that will let us save the ecosystem, plants, animals, water, air and the view shed. We hope to see you there.

We find our Bear encompasses everything we love about our community and the distinctive memorable effect it has on all of us; expansive skies free from light pollution, mountains embracing a unique spectrum of flora and fauna, trails, waterfalls, lakes, streams and quiet countryside. Finally, you have the bear itself, long a symbol of strength, family, vitality, courage and health.
